Le Nozze di Figaro - Avonweir
For their inaugural fully-staged production, Kleine Opera brought Le Nozze di Figaro to life in a truly unforgettable setting: the stables at the bottom of a garden, celebrating a 60th birthday in extraordinary style. Our host, an opera aficionado, had a daring vision; an intimate opera performance in an unconventional space, and Kleine Opera embraced it wholeheartedly.
The rustic charm of the stables became a magical stage, where clever staging and imaginative use of the space perfectly complemented the comedic brilliance of Mozart’s masterpiece. Every corner was utilized to full effect, drawing the audience into the action and creating moments of surprise, delight, and laughter.
The production was an overwhelming success. The host was thrilled, and for many in attendance, it was their very first encounter with opera. The intimate setting and engaging performance created a uniquely accessible and immersive experience, proving that opera could be both entertaining and approachable. One audience member even shared with our Artistic Director after the performance: “If I knew opera could be this fun, I would have gone years ago!”
This production was more than just a performance; it was a celebration of creativity, music, and the joy of sharing opera with new audiences. Kleine Opera showed that with imagination and passion, even the most unconventional stages can become places of enchantment and laughter, leaving lasting memories for performers and audiences alike.
